The Kings brought their American Hockey League affiliate to Manchester in 2000 and dropped the first puck at the Verizon Wireless Arena on November 16, 2001. The Monarchs fourth annual Education Day, presented by NHHEAF, will once again turn the Verizon Wireless Arena into the largest classroom in the Granite State on Wednesday, November 13. The previous three Education Day games have seen over 6,000 students from 69 area schools fill the stands. Each student attending the game will receive a workbook which will provide educational insight on the different aspects of the hockey game being played out in front of them. Throughout the concourse of the arena, students will be treated to a variety of interactive exhibits focused on health and wellness, geography, arithmetic, reading and science. Additionally, the in-game promotions on the video board will include quizzes and trivia geared specifically toward the students.
The party in the back has taken over the business in the front as the team will once again celebrate hockey hair while raising funds and awareness for men's health when they host the third annual Mullets In Movember. Throughout the month of November, the Monarchs staff, coaches, and players will sport moustaches in support of men's cancer awareness month and will celebrate with Mullets In Movember on Saturday, November 16. Proceeds from Mullets In Movember on Saturday, November 16 will benefit Norris Cotton Cancer Center and the Movember Foundation.
Paying homage to the strong Canadian and Franco-American heritage in New Hampshire, the Monarchs will once again host Canadian Heritage Night. Everything about the Monarchs home game on Saturday, November 23 will be about honoring Canadians and Franco-Americans.
The Monarchs traditional Holiday Game returns to the Jungle just in time to get you in the holiday spirit on Sunday, December 15. The first intermission will feature a specialty Sing For Santa concert showcasing New Hampshire school choruses. Fans will also participate in the most exciting goal of the season with the Teddy Bear Toss!
