Monarchs Announce Guaranteed Dates for 2012-13 Season

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have announced six guaranteed home game dates for the 2012-13 season including the Home Opening Weekend on Friday, October 19 and Saturday, October 20 at the Verizon Wireless Arena . In addition, Manchester will also bring back Mullets In Movember on Saturday, November 10 and Education Day on Wednesday, November 14. The Monarchs will also host a Black Friday game on Friday, November 23 and the annual New Year's Eve Celebration will commence on Monday, December 31. New this season, the Monarchs pay homage to their NHL affiliate, the Stanley Cup Champion Kings, with Kings Night on Saturday, January 19. The entire schedule for the Monarchs 2012-13 season, including their opponents, will be announced later this summer. Individual tickets for games during the 12th season will go on sale following the release of the full schedule.

The Monarchs Home Opener on Friday, October 19 will mark the team's 12th season in New Hampshire. The Kings brought their American Hockey League affiliate to Manchester in 2000 and dropped the first puck in the Verizon Wireless Arena on November 16, 2001. Over the first 11 seasons, the Monarchs have collected a record of 7-4-0-0 in their Home Opener.

The party in the back has taken over the business in the front as the team will once again celebrate hockey hair while raising funds and awareness for men's health when they host the second annual Mullets In Movember on Saturday, November 10. Throughout the month of November the Monarchs players, coaches and staff will sport moustaches in support of men's cancer awareness month.

The Monarchs third annual Education Day will once again turn the Verizon Wireless Arena into the largest classroom in the Granite State. The previous two Education Day games have seen almost 3,700 students from 41 area schools filled the stands. Each student attending the game will receive a workbook which will provide educational insight on the different aspects of the hockey game being played out in front of them. Throughout the concourses of the arena, students will be treated to a variety of interactive exhibits focused on health and wellness, geography, arithmetic, reading and science. Additionally, the in-game promotions on the video board will include quizzes and trivia geared specifically toward the students.

Manchester 's Black Friday game will take place the day after Thanksgiving, following a long day of shopping on Friday, November 23.

The traditional New Year's Eve celebration game will return for the 12th consecutive season on Monday, December 31. Fans can stay tuned following the game for the largest indoor fireworks display in New England.

The Monarchs will introduce the inaugural Kings Night on Saturday, January 19 where it will be everything Kings. The primary affiliate of the Stanley Cup Champions will bring Los Angeles to Manchester in the middle of winter for a little fun in the sun.
