
Florida Panthers Sign D Jason Desantis

SUNRISE, FL - Florida Panthers Executive Vice President & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has agreed to a one-year, two-way contract with D Jason DeSantis.
DeSantis, 26, played in 66 games with the St.John's IceCaps (AHL) last season, ranking third on the club with 43 points (11-32-43) and 58 PIM. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound defenseman also appeared in 10 games in the 2012 Calder Cup playoffs, recording three assists.
The Oxford, Mich. native has played in 151 career AHL contests for Philadelphia (2007-2009), Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (2010-2011) and St. John's (2011-2012) recording 70 points (13-57-70). Prior to turning pro, DeSantis played four years of college hockey at Ohio State University (2004-2008).
