New England Black Wolves News Release
UNCASVILLE, Conn. - The Connecticut Sun and New England Black Wolves announced today that Vachon Ford and Chevrolet has been named the official automotive partner of both franchises.
Based in Brooklyn, Conn., Vachon Ford offers a vast collection of cars, straightforward financing option and expert car care services at their full service dealership throughout the greater Brooklyn area and beyond. Through the partnership, fans of both franchises can expect to see Vachon signage at all games.
"We felt like this would be a great partnership and opportunity," said Vachon General Manager Joe Simon "It's not a traditional partnership for a car dealership - typically that's television or radio - so we felt like this would be a unique way of advertising the dealership. The best part is that it is Connecticut's two professional teams, both of which are local to us. We know that fans of both teams are extremely passionate and we are excited to be involved."
The Connecticut Sun boasts one of the most loyal and largest fan bases in the WNBA. Last season, the Sun averaged 6,589 fans at Mohegan Sun Arena, which seats 9,323. In addition, the team was featured on ESPN2 twice and 27 times locally on NBC Sports Boston and Fox61/CW20.
The Black Wolves have seen tremendous growth since moving to Uncasville in 2014. The team averaged just 3,915 in its first year and is now boasting crowds of an average of 5,425 in 2019, with capacity at 7,074. In addition, the National Lacrosse League entered a relationship with B/R Live in 2019, resulting in all games - both home and away - available on the newly-debuted national platform.
