Mammoth Preview: 4 Things to Know

LAST TIME OUT

On Sunday, the Black Wolves exploded at the start of the fourth quarter that put it ahead to grab the win over the Rock, 13-11. New England scored six goals in the fourth quarter all together after trailing by three, 10-7, at the end of the third. It was the second time since the team relocated from Philadelphia that they have come back down three goals entering the fourth and won. Callum Crawford continued his hot streak by gathering eight points (three goals, five assists) against Toronto.

NEW JAMIESON CAREER HIGH

In net Sunday, Doug Jamieson set a new career high with 47 saves against Toronto. Jamieson saw 58 shots, letting in only 11 goals. The win is Jamieson's third in 2019 in his sixth game played. All three wins for Jamieson came when he played the entire 60 minutes

DOWNS ROOKIE CAMPAIGN

Rookie Dereck Downs continues to shine in his first NLL season. Sunday against Toronto, Downs scored three goals in the first half. He scored the first two goals of the game in the first 48 seconds of play. So far this season, Downs has 13 goals and two hat tricks. His 13 goals ranks second among rookies in the NLL.

MAKING MOVES

The Black Wolves acquired Mackenzie Mitchell from the Vancouver Warriors in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2022 NLL Entry Draft on Thursday. The 6-foot-3 defenseman has 16 loose ball pickups and three caused turnovers to go along with two assists in six games this season. New England also moved defenseman John Lafontaine to the injured reserve list and activated Adam Perroni from the practice squad this week. In addition, forward Quinn Powless was moved to the active roster while JP Kealey went to the practice squad. The team also released Tal Bruno from the practice squad.
