MOBILE, Ala - With the game tied at 4-4 in the bottom of the 10th inning, BayBears second baseman Gerson Montilla turned on a 1-2 pitch and drove the ball over the left field wall for the BayBears 5-4 walk-off win over the Mississippi Braves Sunday afternoon at Hank Aaron Stadium. The game-winner was the second walk-off homer by the BayBears this season.

Mobile (10-7) lead early, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning, highlighted by a RBI double off the bat of Rudy Flores. The extra-base hit for Flores snapped a 0-for-26 hitless streak at the plate.

The Braves cut the BayBears lead to 2-1, scoring a run in the top of the second inning when Seth Loman powered out a solo home run to right. The Braves then tied the game at 2-2 with a wild pitch that allowed Kevin Ahrens to score from third.

The BayBears again reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning when Alex Glenn led off the frame with a triple and scored on a RBI ground out from Montilla. Mobile tacked on another run in the seventh inning to take a 4-2 lead but the M-Braves fought back, scoring one run in the eighth inning and another to tie the game at 4-4 in the ninth.

RHP Aaron Blair had to settle for a no decision despite limiting the M-Braves to just two earned runs on five hits, walking one and striking out five in seven innings of work on the mound. RHP Jimmie Sherfy suffered his second blown save of the year when he surrender the game-tying home run to M-Braves catcher Chris O'Dowd in the top of the ninth inning.

The win was credited to Seth Simmons (3-0) who worked a scoreless inning of relief in the top half of the 10th inning.

The two teams meet again at Hank Aaron Stadium on Monday night with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 PM CT.
