MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Austin Pruitt (2-1) continued to shine on the mound Sunday afternoon, as the Biscuits (9-8) defeated the Jackson Generals (4-10) 3-2 at Riverwalk Stadium.

The right-handed starter from the Woodlands, TX threw eight impressive innings against a Generals squad that has now lost four straight, striking out six. The lone blemish to Pruitt's line came in the eighth on a two-out, two-strike RBI-single by Zach Shank. Pruitt struck out Generals shortstop Jack Reinheimer to complete the half-inning.

Jackson southpaw Misael Siverio (0-1) was effective on the other side, allowing just two hits over six innings of work. But the Cuban starter could do nothing to prevent the Biscuits first run on a two-out error by third baseman Jordy Lara-his fourth in the last two days-which allowed Tommy Coyle to score from third. Siverio then served up a long homerun to Biscuits third baseman Richie Shaffer who hit it out of the deepest part of the ballpark in left-center for his fourth four-bagger of the year.

The Biscuits added one more run in the bottom of the seventh, courtesy of a Johnny Field, Jr. sac fly, before Parker Markel pitched a one-run ninth to earn his second save of the season.

The win was Montgomery's eighth in their last ten games, as they look to make it nine out of eleven Monday versus Jackson with Jared Mortensen (1-1) throwing against Stephen Landazuri (0-0).
