Montgomery, Ala. - Jackson rallied late for runs in the final two innings, but it wasn't enough in a 3-2 loss to the Montgomery Biscuits on Sunday afternoon in front of 3,511 at Riverwalk Stadium. Three Generals had multi-hit games and Jackson allowed just five Montgomery hits, but Jackson lost its fourth in a row.

Down 3-1 heading into the ninth, it looked as if Jackson (4-10) would go down quietly. Montgomery closer Parker Markel (S, 2) retired the first two batters he faced before giving up a triple to Dario Pizzano (2-for-4, R). Gabriel Guerrero, the next man up, walked and a passed ball on Justin O'Conner brought Pizzano home to make it 3-2. With the tying run aboard, Dan Paolini flied out to center field to end the ballgame.

In addition to the triple, Pizzano singled to left field in the fifth inning to extend his hitting streak to eight games. Over that stretch, Pizzano is 12-for-32 (.375). It is the longest streak for any General in 2015.

The Generals were shut out by Montgomery's Austin Pruitt (2-0, 1.01) for the first seven innings before finally breaking through with two outs in the eighth. Down 3-0, Steve Baron doubled down the right field line and scored on a Zach Shank base hit to put the Generals on the board. Baron and Shank both had two hits in the contest.

That was the only run that Pruitt allowed in eight innings of work. He struck out six while giving up just six hits and walking one. It was the righty's third-straight start of seven innings or more, and the eight-inning outing tied a career high.

Jackson got a great start from Misael Siverio (0-1, 1.10), who went six innings while allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits. It was Jackson's second quality start of the year, with the first coming from Stephen Landazuri on Opening Night.

Mongtomery (9-8) scored an unearned run on Siverio in the third to get the inning started. With Tommy Coyle on third and two outs, Daniel Robertson reached on a Jordy Lara fielding error that extended the inning and put the Biscuits up 1-0.

After Pruitt faced the minimum in his first five innings of work, the Generals put some pressure on the Montgomery starter in the sixth. Jackson loaded the bases on two hits and a walk, but Pruitt struck out D.J. Peterson to keep the Generals scoreless.

The Biscuits took the momentum back in their half of the sixth. With one out, Richie Shaffer launched his fourth home run of the year to double Montgomery's edge. The Biscuits added another run in the seventh on a Johnny Field, Jr. sacrifice fly to go up 3-0.

The five-game set at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium continues Monday night. Stephen Landazuri (0-0, 1.98) makes his fourth start of the year against Biscuits' righty Jared Mortensen (1-1, 2.00). First pitch is at 7:05 pm CT and you can hear all the action live on the TJ Network (AM 1390, FM 94.1 and 94.3) starting with the Pregame Show protected by the Tennessee Army National Guard at 6:50 pm.

The Generals return home for five games against Pensacola starting on Thursday, April 30 with a Dollar Night presented by State Farm Agent Wes Harris.
