
MLB Pitch, Hit, and Run to be Held in Wenatchee

(Wenatchee, WA)-The Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit, and Run competition is coming to Wenatchee this spring. The free event will be held at Paul Thomas Sr. Field on May 19 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. and is sponsored locally by the Wenatchee AppleSox. Kids who sign up and participate in the event will get a free t-shirt.
Pitch, Hit & RunT is the official skills competition of Major League BaseballR. This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills.
"It's exciting for kids in North Central Washington to be able to participate in this free Major League Baseball sponsored competition," said AppleSox head coach Ed Knaggs, who is organizing the event.
Boys and girls are divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2013 MLBT All-Star GameR.
The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each age and gender group at the Local Competition will be awarded and advance to the Sectional Level of Competition.
All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and have their parent or guardian fill out a registration/waiver form prior to the start of the competition. The registration form can be downloaded from www.applesox.com and turned back into the AppleSox office. For more information on the event call (509) 665-6900.
