Mitchell Released from Roster; Duran Reinstated from DL

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Suns, Double-A minor league affiliate of the Miami Marlins, announced today that INF Russell Mitchell has been released from the roster, retroactive to Monday, May 28, 2012. In a corresponding move, INF German Duran has been reinstated from the 7-day DL to the active roster and is available for the Tuesday's doubleheader in Jacksonville, Fla.

Mitchell, played 24 games with the Jacksonville Suns in 2012, hit .163 with 10 RBI in 80 at-bats. Mitchell split time between first base and third base and committed three errors during those 24 games.

Duran, who has been on the DL since April 22, 2012, has limited time with the Suns in 2012 as he played in just three games. In those three games Duran hit .400 with one homerun and two RBI.
