(Danville, IL)- The Lorain County Ironmen found out that the old saying of good pitching beats good hitting is true on Wednesday night in Danville, IL. The Ironmen managed only 3 hits and no runs off of Danville starter Evan Mitchell from Mississippi State University.

Mitchell entered the game 2-0 on the season with 0.64 ERA and 20 strikeouts.

On Wednesday night he went 9 innings striking out 12 and did not allow a run. He struck out 7 Ironmen through the first 3 innings.

The only offense the Ironmen could manage came from Brad Hallberg, Nate Tomaszewski, and Jeff Cola who all singled.

Jason Pascuzzi started and took the loss for Lorain County. He went 5 innings allowing 3 earned runs on 8 hits while striking out 6 and walking none. The loss drops Pascuzzi's record to 1-2 on the season.

The Ironmen and Dans play again Thursday night in Danville. First pitch is set for 7:35. Sean Blackburn will be on the mound for the Ironmen.
