Tri-City Dust Devils News Release

The Tri-City Dust Devils (8-15, 27-34) could not mount a comeback in front of a sellout crowd of 3,757 fans at Gesa Stadium on Saturday night as the team lost 6-2 to the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (10-13, 27-34). The Dust Devils committed a season-high five errors.

Cal Quantrill, the eighth overall pick of this year's MLB Draft, allowed his first earned runs since joining Tri-City. Quantrill gave up three earned runs off of six hits in 3.2 innings of work. He suffered his second loss of the season.

Buddy Reed had the only extra-base hit of the game for the Dust Devils. He doubled in the third inning and scored the team's final run of the game after an error committed by Salem-Keizer's first baseman Leo Rojas.

Left-hander Eric Lauer will start the second game of the five-game series on Sunday night. The Volcanoes will counter with right-hander Victor Concepcion. It will be WSU Coug Night at Gesa Stadium. Great seats are available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
