Missoula Erases Late Deficit to Win Eighth Straight

Missoula, MT- After having a good amount of success in the first inning for the first 4 games of the week, the Glacier Range Riders would flip that script in game 2 of a 3 game set opposite the Missoula PaddleHeads. Glacier would take an early lead in the first and would go on to do so for a large portion of the action. Missoula would continue to stay close throughout however never trailing by more than 2. Both teams would struggle to push runs across through much of the night. But when the PaddleHeads needed to make something happen in the clutch, they would do just that.

Trailing by a run going into the bottom of the eighth, Nick Gatewood would start things off with a double to immediately put the heat on the Range Riders. Nick Cici would also reach base one batter later to put the lead run on base. During that at-bat, Gatewood would come around to score from second base on a wild pitch. Later in the frame, Kameron Willman would hit a fly ball to left that sent Cici to the plate from third attempting to tag up. The North Carolina native was able to beat the throw to give Missoula the lead at 5-4. Jayson Newman would then do the rest in a stress free ninth as Missoula would hang on for a 5-4 win.
