Mississippi RiverKings relied on the sparkling performance of Adam Courchaine in net to grab a 5-1 win against the Columbus Cottonmouths. Columbus' power play was ineffective against Mississippi RiverKings' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. Mississippi RiverKings was led by Leo Thomas, who finished with one goal and one assist. Thomas scored short handed 10:28 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Mississippi RiverKings. Mississippi RiverKings was on a disadvantage when Mike Grace went off the ice for cross checking. Mississippi RiverKings found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Mississippi RiverKings averages 2.8 goals per game. The 40 shots that Mississippi RiverKings put on net surpassed Mississippi RiverKings' average of 28.1 shots per game this season. Mississippi RiverKings also got points from Joseph Holka, who also had one goal and one assist and Devin Mantha, who also registered one goal and one assist. Mississippi RiverKings also had goals scored by Bryon Paulazzo and Paul Ciarelli, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Mississippi RiverKings were Ryan Marcuz, who had two and Dylan Quaile, Daniel Sobotka, and Sean Jones, who each chipped in one. The Cottonmouths were led by Bryce Williamson, who took two shots. Mississippi RiverKings' Courchaine stopped 27 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Mississippi RiverKings incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Andrew Loewen recorded 35 saves for Columbus. The Cottonmouths incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
