MEMPHIS, Tenn. - RiverKings players Joey Holka and Justin Gvora checked against bullying at Double Tree Elementary School on February 3.
Holka and Gvora gave a lesson on bullying and then asked each student to sign an anti-bullying pledge.
"Bullying can make the classroom feel uncomfortable to the point that learning can't take place," said 5th grade teacher Latoya Proctor. "It means a lot to us that the RiverKings came to our class to set an example that bullying needs to be ended in the classroom."
The RiverKings are back home Saturday, Feb. 7 against the Pensacola Ice Flyers for Pink in the Rink presented by ServiceMaster by Stratos. The RiverKings raise money for Wings Cancer Foundation in support of breast cancer awareness by wearing special pink jerseys. Single-game tickets can be purchased at riverkings.com/ticketmaster and groups of 15 or more get a discount, with group tickets starting at $8 per ticket, by calling the front office at 662-342-1755.
