Mississippi Braves News Release


Pearl, MS - The Mississippi Braves welcome the Birmingham Barons, the best team in the Southern League, to Trustmark Park for a five-game series June 11th-15th. The homestand will be loaded with promotions, special uniforms and an appearance from one of the greatest Braves of all time.

Thursday, June 11th will be Thirsty Thursday when all 16 oz. soft drinks and domestic draft beer will be $1. Thursday night will also be Turn Back the Clock Night when the M-Braves and Barons will wear ‘throwback' uniforms. The M-Braves will wear the powder blue uniforms worn by the Atlanta Braves of the 1980s. The jerseys will be auctioned off as a part of yet another M-Braves ‘Shirt off our Backs Night'. All tickets will be only $3 in honor of Atlanta Braves' legend Dale Murphy. Game Programs will be only $1 and there will also be special pricing on merchandise and food and drinks at the concession stands. It will also be Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Mississippi Awareness Night at Trustmark Park.

On Friday, June 12th, fans can enjoy the Braves famous Friday Night Fireworks Extravaganza following the game.

Saturday night will bring an appearance by the always entertaining mascot Rally. It will also be Department of Human Services Fatherhood Initiative Night when responsible fathers from around the state will be in attendance with their children. The M-Braves Silent Auction tables will be set up throughout the game where fans can bid on fabulous Braves memorabilia.

The M-Braves celebrate Father's Day with a Father's Day Celebration when the first 1,500 adult males through the gates will receive a Free BBQ Apron. The Sunday game will also feature the Braves FamilyFest when a family of four can get four dugout level seats, four hot dogs or hamburgers, four 16 oz. soft drinks, four bags of peanuts or cracker jacks, four M-Braves caps, two game programs and Fun Zone wristbands for the children for only $52 (regular price: $153). After the game, children 14 and under can run the bases at Trustmark Park compliments of Comcast Cable.

The homestand comes to an end with the biggest day of them all. Monday, June 15th will be Dale Murphy Night at Trustmark Park. Murphy will be the guest speaker at a special luncheon in the Farm Bureau Grill at noon, throw out the first pitch prior to the game and sign autographs during the game. It will also be Mississippi Firefighters Memorial Burn Center Association Awareness Night. In addition, the usual Monday promotions will be in effect. Dollar Dog Monday when all hot dogs, excluding foot longs, will be $1. It'll also be Military Monday when any member of any US Military Division can get field level seats for themselves and their families for only $2. It's also Church Bulletin Monday when families can get half-priced field level seats by presenting a church bulletin. Monday's are also Chevron Bonus Monday when tickets are buy-one-get-one-free upon presentation of a Chevron credit card.

Tickets are available, but are sure to go fast. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Trustmark Park ticket office, the Mississippi Coliseum, Be-Bop Records in Jackson and Vicksburg, all Ticketmaster locations, online at www.mississippibraves.com or by phone at 601-932-8788. Fans can also call Ticketmaster to place their orders at 601-355-5252. There will be a $5 fee for all phone orders through the Braves ticket office.
