CORPUS CHRISTI-One night after suffering their worst loss of the season the Missions enjoyed a one-sided game of their own in front of 5,034 Tuesday night at Whataburger Field.

Rico Noel and Everett Williams each drove in a season-high three runs to lead a 14-hit attack.

Williams clubbed his first homerun of the season in the fifth inning. It was his first extra base hit since April 11, a span of 24 games.

Kalian Sams hit a prodigious homerun in the first inning. The free agent signee now has five homers and 12 RBI in just seven games with San Antonio.

Jose De Paula (3-3) worked six innings for the third time this season to get the win. De Paula allowed all five Corpus runs but pitched better than his line indicated.

San Antonio pitchers struck out 12 Hooks batters.

The win moved the Missions (20-18) to within two games of the first place Hooks.

Notebook: INF Anthony Contreras was placed on the DL. Chris Burke joined the team to replace him on the roster and walked as a pinch hitter...The Missions had a five-run third inning and are now 15-0 in games when they've had at least one inning of three or more runs.
