Missions Fall For Third Straight Game To The Rockhounds

San Antonio - The San Antonio Missions extended their four game losing streak to remain one game behind first place Corpus Christi Hooks in the second-half. San Antonio has now yielded 39 combined runs over the first 3 games of the series against the RockHounds.

Midland commanded an early lead with Michael Choice hitting a two run homer in the first. They padded their lead scoring nine more in the second, third, and fourth innings till rain set in with 2 outs in the top of the fourth.

After an hour and sixteen minute rain delay, Ryan Kelly took the mound with the bases loaded as Midland's first-baseman, Anthony Aliotta, knocked a grand slam over the right field wall. He finished with six RBIs and 11 put outs in the night's game.

The Missions scored four times in the sixth, highlighted by a Jason Hagerty two-run homer. San Antonio went 2-10 with runners in scoring position.

A depleted Missions' bullpen had to use eight pitchers in the game, allowing 13 earned runs and 16 hits. Keyvius Sampson (5-8, 5.27 ERA) suffered the loss.

San Antonio is now 4-6 in their last 10 games.

The fourth and final game of the series and the home stand is tomorrow at 6:05pm. Left-hander Fabio Castro (1-1, 4.12 ERA) will start for the RockHounds while left-hander Andrew Werner (3-8, 3.57 ERA) goes for San Antonio.
