TULSA, OK - After walking only seven hitters in the first two games of a series with Amarillo, the Tulsa Drillers were hurt by nine walks and three errors in game three on Thursday night at ONEOK Field. The Drillers appeared positioned to overcome the miscues as the game was tied in the seventh inning, but the Sod Poodles scored three runs in the eighth to hand Tulsa the 7-4 loss.

The Drillers outhit Amarillo 6-5 in the loss as the game featured a 7-4 final for the third straight night.

Amarillo needed just three batters to take a lead in the game. After two walks and Jordan Lawlar's steal of third base, the speedy shortstop scored on A.J. Vukovich's fielder's choice groundout.

Kody Hoese responded for the Drillers with an opposite-field home run in the second inning to tie the game.

Another walk to Lawlar aided the Sod Poodles in scoring their second run with Vukovich again providing the RBI with a double.

Tulsa manufactured a run in the fifth inning to tie the game at 2-2. With one out, Jorbit Vivas was hit by a pitch and advanced to third base on a hit-and-run single by Yusniel Diaz. Vivas crossed the plate one batter later on Diego Cartaya's sacrifice fly.

The Sod Poodles used a sacrifice fly of their own to regain the lead in the sixth inning.

With a runner at third base in the seventh inning, Tulsa pitcher Ben Harris unloaded a wild pitch to the backstop. The ball ricocheted off the netting right back to catcher Hamlet Marte. Marte raced the baserunner to home plate, where the two collided, knocking the ball loose from Marte and allowing Amarillo to score its fourth run of the night.

The lead did not last long as Tulsa scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Diaz grounded out to third base, scoring Ismael Alcantara, and Cartaya followed with an RBI single to tie the game at 4-4.

In the eighth, Amarillo needed just two hits to score the go-ahead run and two insurance runs. A walk, an error and a hit batter helped the inning as the Sod Poodles took a 7-4 lead they would hold for the rest of the game.

HIGHLIGHTS AND HAPPENINGS:

*Three of Amarillo's runs reached base on walks, and the three errors resulted in three unearned runs.

*Jack Little received the loss, surrendering three runs in the eighth inning, but only one was earned. It was his first decision with the Drillers.

*Diaz's fifth inning hit extended his hitting streak to ten straight games.

*Drillers pitchers were called for two pitch-clock violations in the game. Both violations resulted in walks.
