Miracles Fall to Storm

On December 27, 2015, the Moncton Miracles played their season home opener against the Island Storm.

The Miracles trailed most of the way through the First quarter, being down by ten at the end, with a score of 36-26 in favour of the Storm.

In the Second Quarter it started off with a James Justice and Tyrrel Tate show, as the Miracles had the game down to just three points before the Storm took over. The Storm would end up taking a 25-point lead near the end of the second quarter with a strong play by Nick Evans and Mike Martin. The Miracles would trail the Storm 75-54 going into half time.

To start the Second half it was the Tyrrel Tate show, as he put the team on his back and helped the Miracles prevail and knock the lead down to just five. With the presence of Cordell Jeanty, the Miracles were able to go on an incredible run and keep the ball game close. At the end of the Third the Miracles would be down by 11 with a score of 99-89.

The Storm would keep its distance through most of the fourth leading by 10 for a huge chuck of the quarter. Despite a big third quarter by the Miracles, they were unable to pull ahead and ended up falling to the Storm 130-117.

Top scorers for Moncton were Tyrrel Tate with 25 points and Tydran Beaty with 22 points. For the Island, it was Mike Martin with 35 points Brent Jennings with 26 points.

The Miracles will be playing there next home game on Tuesday December 29, 2015 against the Halifax Hurricanes. Tip off is at 7pm at the Moncton Coliseum.
