
Miracle to Honor Former Employee

Fort Myers Mighty Mussels News Release
FORT MYERS, FL (April 10, 2012) - The Fort Myers Miracle announced today that on Thursday, April 12th the gameday operations center at Hammond Stadium will be officially named the "Vince Hanley Public Address Booth".
Hanley, died in August after a 20-year struggle with Gorham's disease, a rare disorder that essentially dissolves bone. He worked for the Miracle over the course of 12 years, mainly as the stadium's scoreboard operator.
Lee County Commissioner Ray Judah will make an official presentation to Hanley's parents, Dick and Paula during an on-field ceremony.
"An indomitable spirit," said Mike Veeck, executive adviser to the chairman of the Goldklang Group, which owns the Miracle. Veeck hired Hanley in the early 90's.
Hanley's friends are invited to attend the pre-game ceremony and game with the Miracle hosting the Bradenton Marauders at 7:05 pm.
