Charlotte Stone Crabs News Release
PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - The Charlotte Stone Crabs return to Charlotte Sports Park on Thursday, April 12 for a six-day, six-game homestand with series against the Jupiter Hammerheads (Miami Marlins) and St. Lucie Mets (New York Mets).
The weeknight games will feature daily promotions including Thursty Thursday presented by Joe Cracker and Seniors Eat Free Tuesdays, while the weekend will feature Emergency Awareness Weekend, Kids Eat Free Night and a Kids Carnival.
Charlotte will start the homestand on Thursday, April 12 with a three-game series against the Jupiter Hammerheads. Thursday's game marks another Thursty Thursday presented by Joe Cracker with $1 domestic drafts and fountain soft drinks and $2 domestic cans through the fifth inning of the game. First pitch is 6:30 p.m. with gates opening at 5:30 p.m.
On Friday, April 13 the Stone Crabs staff looks back and remembers the day Apollo 13 called in to Mission Control and uttered the words "Houston, we have a problem." The night will feature Moon, Mission Control and Space themed games and costumes. First pitch is at 6:30 p.m. with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. Friday night's game will also be the first Kids Eat Free night of the 2012 season. Children 12 and under will receive a free hot dog and chip voucher upon entry to Charlotte Sports Park.
The Stone Crabs will then conclude the series against Jupiter with another Emergency Awareness Night on Saturday, April 14. The 100th anniversary of the Titanic hitting that great iceberg is one Stone Crab fans will never forget. The Charlotte Sports Park berm will be riddled with icebergs and Jack and Rose might even make an appearance. Gates open at 5:30 with first pitch at 6:30 p.m. The fun starts before the gates even open with a Kids Carnival that will start at 4:30 and ending at 5:45 p.m.
The homestand will continue with a three-game, three-day series against the St. Lucie Mets starting on Sunday, April 15. The matinee will start at 5:30 p.m. with gates opening at 4:30 p.m.
The series continues on Monday, April 16 starting at 6:30 p.m. Gates will open at 6:00 p.m. for the matchup between the Mets and Stone Crabs.
The homestand finale will be played on Tuesday, April 17 with Seniors Eat Free Tuesday. All fans 55 and over will receive a free hot dog, bag of chips and soft drink with the purchase of a game ticket, which starts at just $7 for general admission. Tuesday also marks the first Bud Two for Tuesday Night tickets where fans can receive a buy-one, get-one-free ticket offer. This offer is only valid when fans present a special Budweiser coupon, which are found on Bud products at any local supermarket or convenience store, to the box office at the time or purchase. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and first pitch is 6:30 p.m.
