Fort Myers Mighty Mussels News Release
JUPITER, FL (August 4, 2005) - The planet Jupiter is best known for the Great Red Spot, a weather pattern similar to that of a hurricane on Earth. This type of weather would prevent a baseball game from being played on Jupiter, that and the gasses that make up the planet are so poisonous that it would kill a human. On top of that the gravity is so strong a man could not walk and would be crushed to death. The conditions in Jupiter, Florida weren't quite that bad on Thursday night, but the torrential downpour did prevent the Fort Myers Miracle and Jupiter Hammerheads from playing. The game will be made up as part of a double header on Friday evening beginning at 5:00 p.m. Both games will be a seven inning contest. The Miracle send RHP Jay Rainville (2-1, 3.38) to the hill in game one against Hammerhead LHP Manuel Olivera (2-2, 4.35). The Miracle send RHP Scott Tyler (5-6, 4.00) to the hill in game two against Hammerhead RHP Andy Torres (1-0, 3.60).
