
Miracle Fall To Mets, Lose Sixth Straight

FORT MYERS, FL - After falling in two close games to the Mets in a double-header on Friday, St. Lucie scored early and often in a 6-1 victory on Saturday, securing a three-game sweep over the Miracle. Fort Myers has now lost six in a row, including five straight at Hammond Stadium.
Miracle (3-6) hurler Liam Hendriks (5-2) took the loss, giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits in five innings of work. St. Lucie (8-3) starter Jeurys Familia (2-4) allowed only one run on four hits in five innings for the win.
Wilmer Flores started the scoring for the Mets early on, hitting a solo home run against Hendriks in the first inning. St. Lucie scored the rest of their runs against the right-hander in the third, with Stefan Welch notching a two-RBI single with the bases loaded.
Fort Myers plated their only run of the night against against Familia in the fifth. Brian Dozier doubled with two-outs in the inning, and was then brought home on a base-hit by Deibinson Romero.
Dozier had the best night at the plate for the Miracle, going 2-for-2 with two walks.
St. Lucie added their final three runs against Miracle reliever Steve Blevins in the sixth and seventh innings. Shooter Hunt pitched two scoreless innings in relief.
Fort Myers will now head on the road for six games, beginning with a three-game set against Jupiter on Sunday. They will then have a rematch against the Mets on the road in St. Lucie next Wednesday through Friday.
First pitch on Sunday from Roger Dean Stadium is set for 6:05 p.m.
