Miracle Drop Three Straight As Cards Take Game 2

JUPITER, FL- Palm Beach topped Fort Myers 7-4 Monday night at Roger Dean Stadium, marking the Miracle's third straight loss.

LHP Kyle Hald received the starting nod for the Palm Beach Cardinals and did not disappoint. Hald pieced together yet another solid outing, throwing 5 innings while giving up 3H, 2ER, 2BB and striking out two Fort Myers batters. The lefty managed to set down the first seven batters he faced in order before giving up the first hit to Fort Myers catcher, Kyle Knudson (2-4).

Scott Gorgen relieved Hald to start the sixth, defending a 3-2 lead. Gorgen struggled initially, giving up two runs on a walk, triple and a Miguel Sano (2-4, RBI) single. However, the Cardinals reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the inning, scoring 4 runs on three walks, two wild pitches, and a pair of timely hits.

Palm Beach would ultimately hold onto the 7-4 lead en route to their 11th win of the season, 6th at home.

Offensively for the Cards, Nick Longmire (2-5, 2B, 2R, RBI), Stephen Piscotty (2-3, RBI, 2BB), Cody Stanley (2-4, RBI, BB), Danny Stienstra (2-5, RBI), Jonathan Rodriguez (2-5, RBI) and Ronny Gil (2-4, 3B, BB, 2R) all had multi-hit nights.

LHP Iden Nazario notched his first save of the year, tossing a perfect 9th (1IP, 1K).

The Cardinals will look to complete the series sweep against the Miracle, tomorrow, 6:35 at Roger Dean Stadium.
