The Mets dropped their straight game as the Miracle pulled away with a nine-run fourth inning for a 14-2 victory on Friday night at Tradition Field.
Travis Taijeron went 2-for-3 and ripped his first home run of the season. T.J Rivera went 2-for-4 with an RBI double in the eighth inning to score Gilbert Gomez from first. Dustin Lawley and Cam Maron each recorded a hit to pace the Mets offense.
Fort Myers had six home runs in the game, including four home runs in a nine-run fourth inning. Angel Cuan allowed nine runs and 11 hits in 3 1/3 innings. Estarlin Morel allowed a two-run home run in the fourth and recorded one out. Wanel Mesa tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief while T.J. Chism allowed one run and two hits over two innings. Chasen Bradford allowed two runs in two innings.
The Mets will host the Miracle on Saturday at Tradition Field at 6:30 p.m. in the series finale. Domingo Tapia is the scheduled starter for the Mets.
