FORT MYERS, FL - Anderson Hidalgo belted a grand slam in the fourth inning to propel the Fort Myers Miracle to a 9-2 victory over the Lakeland Flying Tigers and break a nine game losing streak at Hammond Stadium on Saturday night.

The Miracle sent eight hitters to the plate in a five run, four hit fourth inning capped off by Hidalgo's blast. Loading the bases with a pair of hits from Nick Romero and Jhonathan Goncalves with a hit batsman sandwiched inbetween, James Beresford picked up a RBI single with a sharply struck ground ball up the middle.

Hidalgo stepped up to the dish, got ahead in the count, and crushed a 2-0 fastball from Lakeland starter Brian Stroud over the left field wall emptying the bases. His fifth homer of the season, Hidalgo finished the game 2-for-5 and upped his RBI total to 36.

Fort Myers added three runs in the seventh inning with run-scoring singles from Rams and Goncalves.

James Beresford finished the game 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored and Goncalves also had a multi-hit game going 2-for-4 in his first start since returning from the disabled list.

Miracle starter Logan Darnell went seven strong innings allowing only one run, a sacrifice fly in the seventh by William Bergolla. Darnell gave up four hits and issued two walks while striking out six, improving his record to 8-2 and 6-2 in starts after a Miracle loss.

Stroud, making a spot start after being called up from the Gulf Coast League, pitched six innings and gave up six runs on 10 hits with six strikeouts. Stroud is now 0-1.

Fort Myers donned pink jerseys as a part of Breast Cancer Awareness Night. Items were auctioned off, including the game worn jerseys, with proceeds going towards breast cancer research for a cure.

The Miracle (49-57, 15-21) return to the field Sunday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. against the Lakeland Flying Tigers (50-54, 14-20) at Hammond Stadium. Listen to the action on www.miraclebaseball.com with the ‘Voice of the Miracle' Alex Margulies and Brice Zimmerman.
