CLEARWATER, Fla. - The Fort Myers Miracle blasted four home runs and cruised to an 8-1 victory over the Clearwater Threshers on Tuesday night at Spectrum Field.

Jimmy Kerrigan opened the game with a line drive homer to center, his fifth of the season. Clearwater tied the game in the bottom of the first, but it was the only run they would scored.

The Miracle broke open the game with five runs in the third inning, highlighted by a two-run blast off the bat of Shane Carrier in his Miracle debut. The outfielder was called up from Low-A Cedar Rapids earlier in the day. Mitchell Kranson also delivered a two-run double and Kerrigan added an RBI single.

Fort Myers tacked on two more in the sixth on a pair of solo homers by Jaylin Davis and Joe Cronin. It was the first time this season that the Miracle have gone deep four times in a single game.

Ervin Santana started on the mound for the Miracle on a MLB rehab assignment. The right-hander tossed 3.1 innings and allowed one run on two hits. He walked one and struck out three. Santana threw 59 pitches, 33 for strikes, and hit as high as 90 mph on the radar gun.

Ryan Mason (4-2) followed the big leaguer with 2.2 scoreless innings to earn the win. He struck out three. Logan Lombana (two innings) and Alex Robinson (one) closed out the win for the Miracle.

The three-game series continues on Wednesday afternoon at Spectrum Field. Right-hander Brady Anderson (0-4) will start for the Miracle against right-hander Connor Seabold (1-3). First pitch is 12:00 p.m.
