FORT MYERS, FL (June 23, 2005) - It won't be a "Mirage" with all the "Hanky Panky" on Saturday night, July 23rd at Hammond Stadium and it won't cost you a lot of "MONY, MONY" as Miracle Baseball hosts the Legends of Rock N Roll XII sponsored by Dixie Buick GMC, Glamour Shots and WOLZ, Oldies 95.3 featuring Tommy James and the Shondells.

Tommy James and the Shondells are entering their 31st year making their mark on the music industry. James formed the Shondells in 1960 at age 12 in his hometown of Niles, Michigan. He recorded his first million-seller with "Hanky Panky," in 1964.

James has 23 gold singles, nine gold and platinum albums and has sold over 100 million records worldwide with some of his other popular hits, "Crimson and Clover," "MONY, MONY," and "I Think We're Alone Now." During 1968-69, Tommy James and the Shondells sold more single records (45's) than any artist in the world, including The Beatles.

"We have had some amazing acts for our Legends Concert in the past," said Miracle General Manager Steve Gliner. "Having the opportunity to get a group like Tommy James and the Shondells was something we couldn't pass up. They have so many songs that people know when they originally made them, plus when they were remade."

James' songs have been recorded by everyone from Billy Idol to the Boston Pops, with over 300 major cover releases by artists worldwide. At one point in 1987, Tiffany and Idol battled it out an entire month for the top spot on the charts with covers of "I Think We're Alone Now" and "MONY, MONY" - each hitting number one. It was the first time in history that covers of two songs by the same artist went to number one back-to-back.

The Miracle take on the Sarasota Reds at 5:05 p.m., with gates opening at 4:00 p.m., and the concert will follow the game. Tickets for both the game and concert are $10 and can be purchased by calling the Miracle office at 239-768-4210 or on line at www.miraclebaseball.com.
