Minnesota Wild Recalls Defenseman Maxim Noreau

Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled defenseman Maxim Noreau (max-EEM NOHR-oh) from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Noreau, 22 (5/24/87), has collected 51 points (18-33=51) including five power-play goals and 58 penalty minutes (PIM) in 74 games with Houston this season. He ranks tied for first on the Aeros and tied for fourth amongst AHL defensemen in scoring and his 18 goals ranks tied for first amongst defensemen. Noreau recorded 39 points (14-25=39) in 77 games with Houston in 2008-09. The 5-foot-11, 192-pound native of Montreal, Quebec has not appeared in an NHL game. Noreau was signed as a free agent by Minnesota on May 22, 2008. He will wear No. 4 with the Wild.

The Aeros travel to San Anotnio tonight to face the Rampage, 7:00 p.m. from AT&T Center. The game will air live on FS Houston as the last of six televised State Farm Lone Star Faceoff match-ups this season. The Aeros host the Texas Stars Saturday in the final home game of the season, 7:35 p.m. at Toyota Center. Saturday will be the conclusion of the annual "Jerseys Off Their Backs" silent auction.
