
Minnesota United Partners with Allina Health as Season Presenting Sponsor

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota United is proud to announce its partnership with Allina Health as the 2016 Season Presenting Partner. Throughout this season, Allina Health and Minnesota United will work together to promote physical activity, social connections and healthy habits through unique game day experiences.
"I am excited about our partnership with Minnesota United," said Penny Wheeler, MD, Allina Health president and chief executive officer. "The sport of soccer has a widespread appeal to people of diverse backgrounds and traditions. It corresponds well with our commitment to building strong connections to the communities we serve, through movement, family and wellness. We're looking forward to a great season and cheering on the Minnesota United with fans at home games, at youth sports programs and in the community."
As the 2016 Season Presenting Partner, Allina Health will provide game day activities for children, adults and families, centered on health and wellness. The partnership will encourage families to rise up and move; the goal is to promote active lifestyles, feel stronger, and help each other live better lives. Game day activities will each have a theme:
June 11 - Get Up and Move!
Physical therapists and athletic trainers from Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute will be on site with free Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) screenings, and the Allina Health tent will host family-friendly activities and plenty of prizes.
July 16 - Youth Sports
Charge up with Health Powered Kids by Allina Health and the sports and ortho team! Move through "power chargers," jump around with volunteers and get active with Allina Health.
Aug. 6 - Allina Health Employee Night
With more than 27,000 employees in Minnesota, Allina Health is the season-presenting partner of Minnesota United. Find the Allina Health tent for fun prize giveaways and cool activities.
Sept. 17 - Wellness & Wellbeing
The Penny George Institute for Health and Healing will be at the Allina Health tent with tips on how to stay active, eat healthy and increase your resilience.
"We're pleased to have a partner that has a strong focus on wellbeing. Taking care of the body is very important to us because it determines how well we play. Good health is essential for peak performance not only for us as professional athletes, but for athletes of all abilities," said Lance Laing, midfielder for Minnesota United.
Allina Health is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of illness and enhancing greater health of individuals, families, and communities throughout Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.
