QUICK FACTS:

MISSOURI SERIES RECORD: 3-1

MISSOURI COACH: Kim Roentved

MILWAUKEE COACH: Keith Tozer (633-386/27 seasons)

THE SKINNY:

The Milwaukee Wave opened its title defense with a thrilling 15-13 victory over the expansion Wichita Wings, but another new franchise stands in its way of inching closer to first place in the standings. Norfolk will make its debut away from home, looking to knock off the champs for its first MISL victory.

Captain Greg Howes donned the hero's cape last Sunday, netting the game winner with 2:17 left in fourth quarter and now stands one two-point goal short of 150 for his career. He currently sits third all-time in Wave history, 19 goals shy of Todd Dusosky's 168 for second on the all-time list.

He and the rest of the attacking front will look to capitalize on what appears to be a shaky SharX backline. Norfolk gave up 14 points in the final stanza in their season opener against Syracuse, en route to a 23-7 defeat. Syracuse midfielder Andre Berenzon had a career night, scoring eight points on three goals and one assist, yet he wasn't even the highest scoring player on his team. Forward Slavisa Ubiparapovic bested Berenzon with a 10 point performance, scoring four goals and dishing out an assist.

Milwaukee will then travel to Missouri to test itself against one of the hottest teams in the league in its first road game of the season. The Comets hold the best record in the MISL at 3-0, having scored double digit points in each of their first three games. They will be out for revenge for last season, when the Wave bounced the Comets in the semifinals.

Missouri has the best keeper to date. Danny Waltman leads the league with a 7.16 points-per-game average. Offensively, three Comet players have notched double digits with midfielders Geison and Vahid Assadpour leading the way with 13.

WAVE MILESTONE WATCH:

Greg Howes: 150 career 2-point goals (149)

Hewerton Moreira: 250 career points (242)

Giuliano Oliviero: 4th place on Wave all-time 2-point goal list (121)

Josh Rife: 100 career points (95)

Marcio Leite: 100 career games (97)
