Lancers Looking for First Win at BCA

(Rochester, NY) ‚¬Â¦ The Rochester Lancers will host the Syracuse Silver Knights at the Blue Cross Arena on Saturday, November 19 at 7:00 p.m. The club will be aiming for their first win of the season in front of the home crowd as they make their third start and second at home.

Rochester, (0-2), dropped their season opening match in Syracuse on November 4th by a 16-15 count. The 31 total points mark the highest scoring MISL match of the season so far and this week should prove no different as Syracuse enters the night as the highest scoring squad, posting 23 and 18 point nights in their next two games. The Silver Knights have won three in a row to start the season and lead the Eastern Division by two games over Baltimore (0-1) and Norfolk (0-1) and 2.5 games over Rochester. They are coached by former Rochester Rhino Tommy Tanner.

Topping the league's scoring charts are Syracuse's Slavisa Ubiparapovic with 16 points and Andre Berenzon with 15 points. Rochester's Lubo Kocic ranks seventh after notching four goals and nine points in his first two games.

Saturday marks the first of three games in seven days for the Lancers as the club will travel for a match at Syracuse next Wednesday, November 23 before hosting the Baltimore Blast in a Saturday matinee at the Blue Cross Arena on November 26th.

LANCERS INTRODUCE WALL OF FAME CLASS OF 2011

The Rochester Lancers will introduce the 2011 class of Wall of Fame inductees on Saturday. It will mark the first time that many honorees will be in Rochester in over thirty years. Among those being honored are former owners Pat DiNolfo, Tony Pullano, Nuri Sabunco and Charlie Schiano. Also included in the celebration will be former goalkeeper Claude Campos forwards Pat Ercoli, Carlos Meditieri, Mike Stojanovich, and Branko Segota. Midfielders Francisco Escos and Frank Odoi, along with head coaches Sal DeRosa and Dragan "Don" Popovic and head trainer Jor Sirianni will also be honored in a pre-game ceremony beginning at 6:45 p.m. Saturday's inductees will be available for autographs in the atrium.

Individual game tickets are still available and start at $10 for adults, and children age 12 and under receive free entry for every regular season home game. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Blue Cross Arena box office, at most area Ticketmaster locations including the House of Guitars, the Auditorium Theatre and many Walmart stores, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000 to charge by phone. STRONG SHOWING AT GATES FOR MISL

The Major Indoor Soccer League announced this week that the MISL drew over 20,000 spectators for the four home openers in Baltimore, Milwaukee, Norfolk and Rochester last weekend. That coming on the heels of crowds totaling over 13,000 for the first three matches of the season one week earlier. The Baltimore Blast topped the league in attendance with 8,072 however Rochester showed strong with the league's second highest total of 6,528.
