THE SKINNY:

The Milwaukee Wave's recent win over the Rochester Lancers tied them for the team's best start in franchise history at 8-0. The only other time that the Wave started 8-0 was in the 2005-2006 season. The Wave now looks to record the best start in team franchise with a win against their rival, the Baltimore Blast at their annual New Year's Eve game.

Baltimore and Milwaukee last faced each other in the 2011 MISL Championship in Baltimore where the Milwaukee Wave won the championship. They share a long history, dating back to the 1992-93 season when the teams played each other for the first time. The Wave leads the all-time regular season series, 45-28. The teams have combined to win 10 of the last 14 league championships with Milwaukee winning five and Baltimore winning five.

The Wave continues their winning streak through a balanced offensive attack and strong defensive efforts. Five players scored for the Wave against the Lancers while Wave veteran, Nick Vorberg, recorded his 100th win as a Wave goalkeeper. The Blast comes in having won their last two games scoring an impressive 36 points in those games.
