Milwaukee Wave Celebrates New Year's Eve with a Crushing Win over Syracuse

Your SIX TIME CHAMPION Milwaukee WAVE of the (MISL) Major Indoor Soccer League celebrated New Year's Eve with defeating the Syracuse Silver Knights.

The WAVE started off strong with early goals from #2 Tenzin Rampa and #14 Nick Perera off assists from #28 Jonathan Greenfield and #15 Tony Walls resulting in an early 4-0 lead for the WAVE. The Syracuse Silver Knights quickly answered with a goal from #23 Machel Millwood, making it 4-2. #55 Kenardo Forbes scored off a free kick resulting from a blue card on #1 Marcel Feenstra, tying the game 4-4. The Silver Knights went on a power play after a blue card was called on #29 J.C. Banks for boarding but they failed to score which ended the period tied 4-4.

The WAVE took the lead in the 2nd period when the WAVE scored a pair of goals from #26 Ian Bennett, assisted by #21 Giuliano Oliviero and an unassisted goal by #18 Carlos Munoz to take the lead, 8-4. A great save by Wave goalkeeper, #1 Marcel Feenstra was quickly followed by a Silver Knight goal from #16 Marcos Chantel assisted by #23 to make it 8-6. #8 Fabhino had a 2nd foul, resulting in a penalty kick for the Silver Knights, which they failed to score off of, ending the 2nd period at 8-6 WAVE.

The WAVE dominated the 2nd half, allowing only two goals from the Silver Knights. The 1st goal came from #55 Kenardo Forbes off of a shoot out opportunity caused by handball from #1 Marcel Feenstra, tying the game at 8-8. The WAVE answered with a pair of goals including a 3 point goal from #18 Carlos Munoz and a goal from #26 Ian Bennett off an attempted shot by #14 Nick Perera, making it 13-8 by the end of the 3rd period.

#26 Ian Bennett started off the 4th period with a 3rd goal to give him a hat trick. #15 Tony Wahls stripped the ball from the Silver Knights and ran it down the field. He passed it to #20 Marcelo Fontana for the goal, making it 17-8 Wave. Shortly after, #18 Carlos Munoz scored an unassisted 3 point goal, giving him a hat trick and leading the Wave to a crushing 20-8 victory over the Syracuse Silver Knights after a goal from #23 Machel Millwood of the Silver Knights. What an outstanding way to welcome in the New Year for the Milwaukee Wave and its fans.

The Milwaukee WAVE will face the St. Louis Ambush in St. Louis on Saturday, January 4th at 6 PM for their first game of the new year. The next Milwaukee WAVE home game will take place in Saturday, January 11th.
