
Milwaukee Wave announces 2005-06 schedule

MILWAUKEE (Thursday, September 22, 2005) - Milwaukee Wave Chief Operating Officer Mike Lafferty, in conjunction with the Major Indoor Soccer League, announced today the schedule for the 2005-06 season of Milwaukee Wave indoor soccer. The upcoming season begins November 6 and ends April 9. Milwaukee opens up at home on November 12, with a revised time of 6 p.m. kick-off.+
"After careful considerations by the League, we are pleased to make this announcement and get the season rolling," said Lafferty. "I know our fans highly anticipate our plans, and we have an exciting season in-store beginning with a bang at our home opener and the special events planned for that night, including a Championship ring ceremony and trophy presentations."
The defending MISL Champions have a 30-game season, which is composed of 15 home and 15 away games. The Wave home season will also include two additional special event games, with details to be announced at a later date. The home opener is scheduled for Saturday, November 12 at 6 p.m. versus the Chicago Storm. Last year, the Wave posted a tied regular-season record against the Storm at 4-4. The Milwaukee Wave, established in 1984, is a member of the Major Indoor Soccer League. Through the guidance of head coach Keith Tozer, the winningest coach in Wave and North American indoor soccer history, the Wave has won four League titles (1997-98, 99-2000, 2000-01 and 2004-05), six regular-season championships, and has made seven championship series appearances.
