Milwaukee Admirals Potential Playoff Storylines

The Admirals will host their annual playoff media day tomorrow, Wednesday, April 19th at the UWM Panther Arena as they begin the Central Division Semifinals at the Grand Rapids Griffins on Friday night at 6 pm CT.
PLAYOFF BOUND...For the 13th time in the past 14 seasons the Admirals are headed to the post-season and for the second straight year they will face off with Grand Rapids in the first round. The Ads will be looking for some revenge this year as they were eliminated by the Griffins 3-0 last season. The series begins in Grand Rapids with games on Friday night at Sunday afternoon before shifting to Milwaukee for game 3 on April 26 and, if necessary, game 4 on April 28. If its needed game five would be on Monday, May 1 at Van Andel Arena.
ROAD WARRIORS...For the first time since 2010, Milwaukee will start series starts on the road, but that might be advantageous for the Admirals. Milwaukee finished the season with a franchise record- tying 23 road wins and they held the best points percentage away from home in the Western Conference. They finished the year 23-11- 1-3 record and haven't lost consecutive games on the road since January 7 and 11. On the flip side, Grand Rapids did pretty well defending their own den, going 25-11-0-2, good for 6th in the AHL on home ice.
EXPERIENCE MATTERS...After the Ads were swept by a more experience Griffins team last year, one of the focuses coming into this season was to add some experience to the Milwaukee line-up.
Cue the additions of players like Adam Pardy, Trevor Smith, and Justin Florek to the Milwaukee line-up. Pardy has over 340 games of NHL experience to his credit was Smith, who serves as Admirals Captain, was the leading scorer on the 2012 Norfolk Admirals team that won 28-straight games and the Calder Cup Championship. Plus the Ads have NHL veteran Mike Ribeiro in the line-up now. Ribeiro has over 1,000 NHL games to his credit and 67 Stanley Cup games.
