Miller Time: Suns Utility Man Pilots 2-1 Win over Asheville

Hagerstown, MD - The Hagerstown Suns (82-53/40-26) made it back-to-back one-run wins over the Asheville Tourists (86-52/39-29), this time 2-1, at Municipal Stadium on Saturday night.

Suns starting pitcher Dixon Anderson (1-1) earned the victory after going five scoreless innings allowing one hit and totaling six strike outs. Kylin Turnbull pitched three scoreless frames in his first relief appearance of the season and first outing with the Suns since July 16th. At one point, Anderson and Turnbull combined to record 15 consecutive outs. Alex Kreis (3) allowed a run in the ninth inning but earned the save.

Justin Miller led the Suns at the plated by going 2-for-4 with a triple, double and both RBIs. Miller, who began the game in right field but then moved to first base, also made a stellar diving play on the infield.

Ashville starter Alex Gillingham (6-8) took the loss, allowing one run over seven innings. Catcher Ryan Casteel went 1-for-2 with an RBI double.

The Suns will play game three of their series with the Tourists on Sunday night at 7:05 p.m. RHP Taylor Jordan (3-3, 3.75) takes the mound against Asheville's RHP Daniel Winkler (10-10, 4.49).
