
Miles Head Named California League Player of the Week

STOCKTON, Calif.-Ports infielder Miles Head has had a standout first-half of the 2012 season here in Stockton and Minor League Baseball has taken notice, naming him the California League Player of the Week for the week of June 11-17.
Head has thus far dominated the California League, leading in hits, homers, average, slugging and on-base percentage, and ranking second in RBIs. During the week of June 11-17, Miles went 14-for-28 over 7 games, with a .500 batting average and a .533 on-base percentage. He hit 3 doubles, 6 Home Runs, and knocked in 11 RBIs - with 2 of the homers coming in the game against Visalia on June 15th.
Head is currently in Winston-Salem, North Carolina where he is representing the Ports and the California League on the Mid-Season All-Star team. He will be participating in the Home Run Derby, as well as the All-Star Game tonight when the California League takes on the All-Stars from the Carolina League.
