Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa-The Waterloo Black Hawks are pleased to announce that second-year defenseman Mike Montrose has decided to play his college hockey at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. The BGSU Falcons are members of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association.
"Mike came to the Black Hawks as a very young player last season. He really had to rise to the challenge of playing against opponents with a lot more experience, and he made it happen. This is another big step, and I'm very proud of Mike," said Waterloo Black Hawks Head Coach P.K. O'Handley.
As a rookie in 2007-2008, Montrose played in 32 regular season games. He scored a goal and assisted on three more. So far this year, Montrose has been limited to ten appearances with one assist.
Jordan Samuels-Thomas is also committed to the Falcon hockey program.
