Vancouver, B.C. - For a second straight season, Vancouver Giants Athletic Therapist Mike Burnstein (Hamilton, ON) will represent Canada at the IIHF World Junior Championships. The 2019-20 tournament takes place from December 26, 2019 - January 5, 2020 in the Czech Republic.

Entering his third season with the Vancouver Giants, Mike Burnstein has no shortage of international experience. Additionally, Burnstein spent 20 seasons with the NHL's Vancouver Canucks.

"We are very fortunate to have a professional of Mike's caliber working with our players" said Giants General Manager Barclay Parneta. "For Hockey Canada to once again place their trust in him speaks volumes about his reputation within the game. It reflects well on our organization to have our staff chosen for such prestigious events."

Other WHL staff members on Canada's 2019-20 World Junior roster include: Mitch Love (Assistant Coach, Saskatoon), Jason Labarbera (Goaltending Coach, Calgary) and Dr. Ed Berdusco (Team Doctor, Edmonton).

This weekend, Burnstein is off to Plymouth, MI for the 2019 National Team Sport Chek Summer Development Camp. He will be joined in Michigan by Bowen Byram who was one of 43 Canadian-born players originally invited to attend. During the event, Canada will play games against the United States, Finland and Sweden.
