Midwest League Playoffs: Fort Wayne vs. Bowling Green
Published on September 5, 2013 under Midwest League (MWL1)
Fort Wayne TinCaps News Release
The TinCaps host the Bowling Green Hot Rods tonight at 7:05 p.m. in game two of their opening-round playoff series. A win tonight for the TinCaps would eliminate Bowling Green and send Fort Wayne to the next round against the winner of the South Bend-Great Lakes series. Tonight's scheduled starting pitchers are Midwest League-ERA king Zach Eflin for Fort Wayne and Reinaldo Lopez for Bowling Green.
In the 24 first-round Midwest League playoff series dating back to 2007, the team that won game one went on to win the series 17 times, or 71% of the time. The TinCaps have never lost their first playoff game and have swept their first-round opponent (Bowling Green in 2011, Lansing in 2012) each of the last two seasons.
Tonight's game will feature Thirsty Thursday beer specials and post-game fireworks. The action can be seen on XFINITY 81 and heard on The Fan 1380 or TheFanFortWayne.com.
