Midnight Madness: Single-Game Tickets On Sale

(Allentown, PA) - In celebration of National Pig Day weekend, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs will put single-game tickets for the 2009 season on sale to the public Saturday, Feb. 28. Initially, ticket purchases are only available to fans on a walk-up basis at the Coca-Cola Park Ticket Office beginning at 12:01 a.m.

At 12:01 p.m., fans will also be able to purchase tickets over the phone and online at www.ironpigsbaseball.com, as well. The ticket office will remain open until 5 p.m. and reopen for business Sunday, March 1 (National Pig Day), from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tickets for Opening Day on April 9 against the defending International League champion Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees are available for purchase in-person only at the Coca-Cola Park Ticket Office. Individuals can purchase up to four tickets for Opening Day. Due to the limited amount of Opening Day tickets available, fans wishing to purchase tickets for the first game are advised to arrive prior to midnight.

Purchases for the remaining 71 home games can be made at the Coca-Cola Park Ticket Office, online at www.ironpigsbaseball.com or over the phone by calling (610) 841-PIGS. With the exception of Opening Day, there is no limit on the number of tickets that can be purchased for IronPigs home games.

Prices for single-game tickets remain identical to 2008 and start as low as $6 for general admission, granting fans access to the Capital BlueCross Lawn seating area and standing room only areas. Field Level reserved seats are $9. Club Level tickets, available for full-season purchase only, are currently sold out.

Festivities to celebrate National Pig Day weekend are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, at Coca-Cola Park. The list of festivities - highlighted by a chance to take some swings in the IronPigs indoor batting cages - appears below:

Pig Roast - Starting at 8 a.m., fans can receive complimentary pork sandwiches while supplies last.

Laugh. Cheer. Oink. Window Clings - Fans will receive a free window cling with the purchase of tickets.

Pig Tales in the Barnyard and Kids Activities (10 a.m. to Noon) - A special National Pig Day edition of "Pig Tales in the Barnyard" with cele-boar-ty reader Tim Chorones, P.A. Voice of Coca-Cola Park.

Children will also have the opportunity to have their faces painted and participate in the "Paint the Pig coloring contest." There will also be free balloons for children throughout the day.

Take a Swing in the Batting Cages (Noon to 2 p.m.) - Fans are encouraged to get ready for the season by taking a few swings in the

IronPigs indoor batting cages (limited to five swings per person).

Purchase of a game ticket is necessary to participate.

Complimentary Coca-Cola products and hot chocolate - Available all day long.

Prizes, Music and More - Raffles and drawings will allow fans to win special prizes.

National Pig Day was inspired by a Texas school teacher and has been recognized annually since 1972.

Fans seeking to guarantee admission to Opening Day can still do so by purchasing season tickets or ticket mini-plans (9-, 18- or 36-game) prior to Feb. 28. Seat location priority will be limited once single-game tickets are on sale. Also, 2009 season ticket and mini-plan holders will have the first opportunity to purchase tickets to the 2010 All-Star Week at Coca-Cola Park.
