
Michael Holmqvist agrees to terms with Anaheim

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Cincinnati Mighty Ducks right wing Michael Holmqvist has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.
Holmqvist appeared in 24 games with Cincinnati in 2003-04, recording seven goals and seven assists with 20 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-3, 212-pounder also appeared in 21 games with Anaheim, scoring two goals with 25 penalty minutes. He scored his first and second NHL goals January 7 against Los Angeles and appeared in his first NHL game October 9 at Nashville.
A Stockholm, Sweden native, Holmqvist was selected by Anaheim in the first round (18th overall) in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. He originally signed a one-year contract with Anaheim April 29, 2003.
