
Miami FC Trades Ben Ofeimu and Ben Mines to Indy Eleven

Miami, FL. - The Miami Football Club announced today the trade of defender Benjamin Ofeimu and forward Benjamin Mines to Indy Eleven. In return, the deal allows for the move of defender Daniel Barbir and forward Roberto Molina to Miami FC.
This trade comes five games into the 2024 USL Championship season and ahead of Miami's match against the Tampa Bay Rowdies tonight.
Miami FC signed Ben Ofeimu in January of 2022. Over the two seasons, Ofeimu played 47 matches for Miami and hit 100 USL Championship appearances while with the team.
Ben Mines joined Miami FC in January 2023 and has since accumulated 27 appearances for the team. During that season, Mines tallied a goal and an assist for Miami.
Daniel Barbir is an experienced defender within the USL Championship. Barbir has over 100 appearances in the league playing for different clubs including Indy Eleven, Oakland Roots SC, and Sporting Kansas City II. In addition, Barbir was a member of the United States youth squads from U-15-U-20, including playing in the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup. Barbir will join Miami's backline and strengthen the defense.
Roberto Molina comes to Miami FC with 62 USL Championship appearances under his belt, having played for Indy Eleven and previously Las Vegas Lights FC. Molina tallied seven goals and eight assists in this time and will be key to Miami's offense. Molina has also played for El Salvador's National Team, marking appearances in the CONCACAF Nations League A.
Molina and Barbir will join the rest of the Miami FC squad playing under head coach Antonio Nocerino for the remainder of the 2024 season.
