
Mets Cruise Past Jupiter 6-1

Jacob DeGrom tossed six scoreless inning s and struck out six and the Mets had a five-run seventh inning to defeat the host Jupiter Hammerheads 6-1 on Saturday.
T.J. Rivera and Matt Reynolds each drove in two runs for the Mets. Travis Taijeron had an RBI single in the seventh while Albert Cordero helped put the game out of reach with an RBI groundrule double.
Marcos Camarena allowed one run on two hits in his first relief appearance of the season. Estarlin Morel pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings while T.J. Chism tossed a scoreless ninth.
The Mets improved to 3-0 and will visit the Jupiter Hammerheads in the series finale on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. Noah Syndergaard is scheduled to make his debut on the mound for the Mets.
