MetroStars Visit Harrisburg, Utica this Weekend

March 28, 2019 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
Mississauga MetroStars News Release

?The Mississauga MetroStars continue a season-ending four-game road trip this weekend when they play on back-to-back nights against Eastern Division opponents. The MetroStars begin the trip Friday night in Harrisburg where they will face the Heat at the PA Farm Show Arena. Mississauga then travels to Utica Saturday night to meet Utica City FC for the third time in less than two weeks at the Adirondack Bank Center.

? ?Last weekend, the MetroStars (4-17) suffered two consecutive losses, a 6-1 defeat to Utica City FC at home last Friday night, and then a 9-2 loss at the hands of the Blast in Baltimore on Sunday afternoon.

? ?Meanwhile, the Heat (8-13) split their two games at home last weekend, beating Orlando SeaWolves 15-10 and then losing to Utica City FC 7-5. Midfielder Ricardo Carvalho paced the Heat with six points over the two games including a hattrick over Orlando last Friday night. Both teams are not in contention for an Eastern Division playoff spot and the two sides have so far split their season series two games apiece so expect it to be a wide open affair.

? ?Utica City FC (15-6) followed up its 6-1 victory over the MetroStars in Mississauga last Friday night with a 7-5 win over the Heat in Harrisburg on Sunday. Mauricio Salles and Liam Callahan both had a four-point weekend, each contributing two assists in the win over Mississauga and both scoring two goals in the victory over Harrisburg. The MetroStars have lost four of five to Utica City FC this season with their only win, a 9-3 victory, coming in Utica on March 17.

? ?The MetroStars face the Harrisburg Heat at the PA Farm Show Arena Friday, March 29 with kickoff set for 7:35pm (EDT). Mississauga then visits Utica to face City FC Saturday, March 30 at the Adirondack Bank Center with kickoff at 7:00pm (EDT). Both games will be streamed live on MASL.tv at MASLsoccer.com.
