
MetroStars to hold MPDP Coach Recruitment Day

SECAUCUS, NJ (Tuesday, February 17, 2004)- The MetroStars announce today that the first ever MetroStars Player Development Program Coach Recruitment Day will take place on Tuesday, February 24, 2004, from 11:00 am until 6:00pm at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.
The MetroStars are seeking U.S. based qualified candidates to serve as seasonal coaches during the Spring, Summer and Fall months. In order to be considered, one must have a coaching license and be a minimum of 19 years old. Coaches will be selected based on interview and practical assessment. Accepted applicants will be compensated in accordance with experience.

The MetroStars Player Developmental Program (MPDP) is the premier developmental soccer program in the Tri-state area. The program provides the most extensive range of soccer programs and services available anywhere in the country. The MPDP is the first initiative of its kind within MLS to provide a structured developmental path for players of every age and ability level. This path starts at our Day Camp Program, progresses through our Player Developmental Schools, Elite Camps, and Academy Teams. For the best of the best, it culminates with the MetroStars first-team.
The MetroStars will play their first home game of 2004 season on April 17, against D.C. United at Giants Stadium. The game will mark history as the 14-year old phenom Freddy Adu's first game in Giants Stadium. Tickets are available by calling 1-888-4METROTIX.
