MetroStars Confirm Live Stream Broadcasts

The Mississauga MetroStars today announced that all 12 of their home games at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre this season will be live streamed on MASLtv at maslsoccer.com. Alex Bastyovanszky will be the play-by-play voice of the MetroStars. A rotation of colour commentators, including TSN soccer analyst Steven Caldwell, will join Bastyovanszky throughout the season in the broadcast booth.

The audio portion of the livestream broadcasts can be heard on NewsTalk Sauga 960 AM, Mississauga's newest radio station that launched in September.

The MetroStars will also produce an in-arena wraparound show called "The Zone" live from the Gladiator Alumni Club Lounge before and after the game as well as at halftime. "The Zone" will be hosted by MetroStars' Director of Communications Alf De Blasis, who will be joined by special guests during each broadcast.

Bastyovanszky will also host a bi-monthly show, "Inside Arena Soccer", a recap of MetroStars action as well as a review of the Arena Premier League, the Mississauga-based semi-pro circuit, now in its second year of operation. The program will air on specialty TV networks affiliated with Ethnic Channels Group (ECG).The first airdate of that broadcast is scheduled for Friday, December 7. TSN's Steven Caldwell a Special Guest at Training

TSN soccer analyst and former Toronto FC captain Steven Caldwell was a guest participant at training today as he joined the MetroStars players in scrimmages at Canlan Sportsplex in Mississauga, the official training facility of the MetroStars. Head Coach and GM Phil Ionadi has been experimenting this week with line combinations and emphasizing set pieces as the team approaches its inaugural season opener in Baltimore against the Blast on December 1.

MetroStars Featured on CP24 Breakfast

The MetroStars will be featured on CP24 Breakfast tomorrow morning between 7:00am and 9:00am (ET). The CP24 morning crew will be on site at Canlan Sportsplex interviewing players and staff throughout the morning. The MetroStars will shift their training session tomorrow to coincide with the live remote broadcast.

Training resumes Friday with a fitness session at the Apex facility next door to Canlan. Media members planning to attend any of the training sessions during the week are advised to contact Alf De Blasis at adeblasis@mississaugametrostars.ca prior to arriving in order to secure credentials on site.

This season, the MetroStars will play in the MASL's Eastern Division, with Utica City FC, Harrisburg Heat and the defending champion Baltimore Blast. The MetroStars' home opener against the Florida Tropics, at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre, is set for Saturday, December 8, 2018, at 3:05pm (ET).
