Mississauga MetroStars News Release

The Mississauga MetroStars made a valiant comeback, scoring twice in the fourth quarter, but ultimately it wasn't enough to catch the host Harrisburg Heat, who added the final tally late in the game to earn a 6-3 victory in a dramatic Eastern Division clash Friday night at the PA Farm Show Arena in Harrisburg, PA.

? ?The two teams were scoreless for the majority of the first quarter until Heat captain Danny Di Prima netted his fifth goal of the season to break the deadlock just 1:37 before the end of the opening quarter of play.

? ?The Heat doubled their lead just 34 seconds into the second quarter as Ricardo Carvalho struck for his team leading 28th goal of the season. Less than a minute later, Matt Braem would add a third for Harrisburg, netting an unassisted tally. There was no further scoring until a late flurry just before halftime as Tavoy Morgan fired his 22nd of the year to put the Heat up 4-0 but Jonathan Osorio gave the visiting MetroStars some life going into the change rooms, deflecting a Mo Babouli shot with just six seconds left on the clock.

? ?Late drama was the order of the day again in the third quarter as Dylan Hundelt collected his own rebound off the end boards and fired his seventh of the season past Mississauga keeper Adrian Becic to put the Heat in front 5-1.

? ?But the MetroStars cut the deficit with two goals in a span of just 2:32 in the fourth quarter. First Halburto Harris netted his third goal of the year and then Shaq Agard connected for his fifth of the season and Mississauga coach John Williams looked to continue the comeback by electing to remove Becic for a 6th attacker.

? ?But with just 1:18 left on the clock, Patrick Thompson scored his sixth of the year for the Heat to put the game out of reach as Harrisburg earned its ninth win of the season. Goalkeeper William Benahene made 19 saves for the Heat who outshot Mississauga 26-22. It was the fifth meeting of the season between the two Eastern Division rivals with the Heat claiming its third win over the MetroStars. They will meet again one final time in Harrisburg next Saturday, April 6.

? ?Meanwhile, the MetroStars wrap up the weekend road trip when they travel to Utica to face another Eastern Division rival, Utica City FC, at the Adirondack Bank Center tomorrow night. Kickoff is 7:00pm (EDT).
